FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Con-Lyn Awarded Grant for Senior HousingToday's Date -- March 19, 2005 Con-Lyn Properties of PA, LLC. has received notice from Chester County Commissioners that it has been awarded $175,000 from the Chester County Department of Community Development’s HOME Program. The funds will be used to assist with the demolition of a structure on Merchant Street in Coatesville and the new construction of four affordable rental housing units. “We have been investing in the Chester County housing market for the past 5 years but this is the first time we applied for and received funding from the Chester County Department of Community Development to supplement our initiatives.” said Kevin L. Lynch, Director of Grants for Con-Lyn. “The team in the Department of Community Development is extremely knowledgeable and helpful through the entire process.” Lynch added. Con-Lyn specializes in the renovation and repair of distressed and abandoned properties in Chester County, PA. Con-Lyn spends a great deal of time partnering with Communities to improve the downtown and surrounding areas. They most recently received the Blue Ribbon Award from the Parkesburg Business Association for the fasoud improvements on one of their downtown multi-family units. Other initiatives Con-Lyn is pursuing include: working closely with Oxford Mainstreet Inc. to improve the facade of a multi-family building in downtown Oxford, PA. and working with the Historic East Linden Project (HELP) in Kennett Square to improve the streetscape and buildings on East Linden Street.
